NEXT MARKET: Sunday 4th March 10am to 2pm on the Market Square
The February market did happen, thanks to committed traders and customers and a tremendous community effort to clear the Market Square of snow to enable the event to happen. The set up and take down of the market is undertaken each month by a small group of volunteers without whom there would be no market - it is no doubt the cameraderie and "can do" attitude of this team that make the atmosphere of the market what it is - a fun place to be.
Despite the snow we had only 5 traders missing, there were beautiful Crabs, Fish and seafood from Selsey and a new stall selling wonderous puddings - Harvey's of Stewkley. We continue to work on the range of products to ensure there is a healthy balance of staples, old favourites and tempting new treats. Watch this space for our next new offering!
THE BACKGROUND
The Market is a joint venture between the Chamber of Trade and the Town Council and is run on an entirely voluntary basis using FARMA guidelines (assuring customers that they are supporting truly local farmers and businesses).
Winslow Farmers Market is going from strength to strength and growing in the variety of products on sale (see left hand side of screen for list of traders regularly attending).
Each month there is a Community Stall where a local organisation can promote their activities or raise funds - this stall is provided free of charge and booked wel in advance.
There is also musical entertainment, which adds to the ambience of the Market - if you would like to provide this entertainment and collect funds for your group's good cause, contact us.
As well as the Farmers Market, many shops and the local cafes are open for business making the first Sunday of each month a date not to be missed.
NEXT MARKET Sunday 4th March.
